Bigisub Online Business API: VTU and Utility Payment API Documentation for Nigeria

The Bigisub Online Business API is a RESTful API built and operated by RIF Technotronics, the technology division of RIF Africa. It lets developers sell airtime, data bundles, cable TV subscriptions, electricity tokens, education result checker PINs, internet subscriptions, betting wallet funding and bulk SMS from their own application, website or platform. Current version 2.0.0.

Base URL and authentication

The base URL is https://api.bigisub.ng. Authentication is by token. Create an account on bigisub.ng, verify it, and your API token and the full documentation become available in your account settings. Every request carries the token in an Authorization header.

• Airtime top-up for MTN, Glo, Airtel and 9mobile
• Data bundles across all four Nigerian networks, including SME and gifting plans

• Education result checker PINs, including WAEC and NECO
• Internet service provider subscriptions
• Betting wallet funding
• Bulk SMS to all Nigerian networks

Pricing on the API

You send only the plan identifier. The price debited is decided by the account type holding the API token: a reseller account is charged the reseller price and a corporate account the corporate price, applied automatically. The data endpoint does not take an amount at all. The airtime endpoint takes a single amount.

Developers and businesses building VTU platforms, utility payment features, reseller portals or automated top-up services for the Nigerian market. The API is available to every verified Bigisub account, on both reseller and corporate tiers.
